Time Flies sometimes. We all have the same amount of time; the same hours in a day and the same number of minutes in an hour. It’s what we do in each moment that matters. When you are doing something you love; when you are in ‘flow,’ it’s funny how time flies. You are fully engaged in each moment. Yet, when you are doing a task that you don’t enjoy, you seem to be more aware of the time. Moreover, you notice how each moment drags and find yourself wishing it away or watching the clock. Waiting for a lunch break, or when you clock off from work. I have attached a short piece written by Eileen Caddy from ‘365 Meditations from Findhorn, Scotland:
How Time Flies
“How often have you heard the remark, ‘How time flies’? When you are full of joy and happiness, giving of your best, living for others, with the good of the whole in your heart, time does indeed fly and you enjoy every second of it. Even though you are living in time, it is not necessary to allow it to become a burden to you and drag you down. There is time for everything, for all those things you want to do, because you will make time to do them. Everyone has an equal amount of time, but it is how you use it that matters, so never complain that some souls have more than others. Never be a slave to time, but make it your servant. You have to make up your mind and what you want to do and then go ahead and do it; and you will find that you have the time to do it perfectly.” Eileen Caddy
Next time you are doing something you love, notice how time flies contrasting against when you are doing something you don’t enjoy. Feel the difference. So, make sure you spend your time wisely, doing what you love and loving what you are doing.
