I have been a smoker for many years, and have tried to quit many times. The same old story as everyone else I guess. Patches, medication from the GP, gum etc. In reality none of these took away the intense anxious feeling I would get when I wanted a cigarette. Sure, they could control my mood swings due to nicotine withdrawal but really didn’t fix the problem of the habit of the cigarette.

I started when I was 16. That is 16 years of smoking which is an awfully long time to be controlled by something as poisonous as a cigarette. During that time my smoking got heavier and heavier to the point where I was nearly on 40 a day. I was waking up with a wheeze and last thing I was doing was having a cigarette outside and then it was one of the first things I was doing again first thing in the morning.

Hi Mandy, I am so excited that I can tell you that I am now smoke free for almost 6 weeks! I have listened to the night time CD every night for about the first 3 weeks then I have gradually stopped using and now I only use it if I have a “bad” day which is rare now. It still pops into my head a few times a day but it comes and goes really quickly and I have noticed over the last few days that I don’t even think of it at key times i.e when I wake up, talking on the phone or after a meal.
