Many, many years ago, I had worked with Mandy and she had been a wonderful mentor to me at that time.
When I reconnected with Mandy it was at a time when I was going through a lot of challenges. I was pretty much at rock bottom and although there were some false starts, Mandy’s dedication meant that she didn’t give up on me. She didn’t let me slip through the cracks. I was diagnosed with CPTSD, a mood disorder, anxiety and depression, which resulted in me being heavily medicated.
I had seen various psychologists and psychiatrists and though they were lovely, I still was very unwell and knew that I needed to try something radically different. A much more holistic approach. I knew I somehow had to change my mind. To change my thoughts to help me spiral upwards and gain self confidence. There aren’t shortcuts, Mindset work is tough, but Mandy offers practical tools that really work.
The more I work with Mandy, the more peace and calm I feel from within and growing in self confidence.
Rather than getting external validation and putting pressure on myself to be constantly achieving. I am a recovering perfectionist. Her structured yet flexible approach is enabling me to get to know myself better. Moreover, to create a vision for my future, live my life according to my values and set goals. Find the ‘why’ in my life and to gradually transform all the different parts of my life. As I said it isn’t easy and change takes time.
I also joined recently, the Unshakeable Self Confidence group course. It is such a fun way to learn, to get inspired by others and to support each other. The biggest transformation so far has been a change in my negative thinking patterns. I’m nowhere near as beholden to that inner critic. Additionally, I’m much more present and kinder to myself than I was. I would never have believed that I would have the confidence to apply for and be successful in getting the role with the conditions and salary that I am now.
Mandy truly has found her calling and her depth of knowledge, encouragement, warmth and grace are making a profound difference in my life. Selena Black.
